Zu den optischen Sensoren gehört auch die Multipoint Temperaturmessung. Die Temperaturermittlung basiert auf dem «Raman-Effekt», wobei eine Temperaturverteilung entlang einer Glasfaser ermittelt wird. Durch Verwendung extrem kurzer Lichtimpulse wird dabei eine räumliche Auflösung von ca. 100mm erreicht, die maximale Länge der Messfaser beträgt 250m.
